Before each meeting the Clerk gathers the items of business to be discussed and sets the agenda. Once the agenda is set it is sent out inviting the Councillors, the press and the general public to the meeting in order to transact the business laid out. Members of the public may ask questions during the item for public questions but are asked to remain silent at other times.
At the meeting the Chair calls each item to order and the individual responsible lays out the details that they wish the Council to consider. If a Councillor asks for an item to be placed on agenda, they are responsible for bringing the information to support their idea or issue.
