From the first English Distillery opened in 2006, as the name suggests, this Virgin Oak Cask expression was matured in virgin oak casks. Virgin oak is not often used in the world of whisky. A virgin cask add vanilla notes and creates a quite unique whisky.
46% ABV.
Nose: Coconut and liquorice with hints of toffee and dark chocolate. Light vanilla and rich oak. Wood spices think cloves and nutmeg.
Taste: Rich and oily. Spicy, the notes of dry oak and vanilla come through. Hints of honey, toffee, chocolate and cloves linger on the palate
