Rampur Single Malt only came out in early 2016. The original Rampur estate was accorded 15 gun salute by British – hence the cannon on the bottle. Lot of Indian heritage and style with the packaging – e.g. gold edges, silk pouch with embroidery. Known as the ‘Kohinoor’ of Single Malts (named after the diamond).
43% ABV – No Age claim – non-chill filtered
Distilled in traditional copper pot stills, matured in first fill bourbon casks and bottled – all at the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttar Pradesh.
Due to the distillery's location in the Himalayan foothills the single malt is exposed to polar opposite climate conditions throughout the year, with the flavour of the famous Indian Summer giving Rampur an added dimension and depth.
