Defibrillator installed by the community in the old telephone box at Hunmanby Gap
Hunmanby Gap Residents Association recently officially opened their new defibrillator fitted in the telephone kiosk at the junction of Sands Road and Gap Road. The Association was able to adopt the kiosk with the help of Filey Town council and it was decided an area receiving so many visitors would benefit from a defibrillator.
Covid halted plans but as soon as they were able work began to achieve this aim. The kiosk was re painted and cleaned by two enthusiastic residents and a Just Giving page was set up to help raise funds which resulted in many generous donations including those made in memory of former residents and visitors.
Filey Lions made a generous donation and have been very supportive throughout. The Beach Cafe and Hunmanby Gap car park staff set up donation jars and along with personal donations raised a substantial amount.
