Though Hunmanby Railway Station is unstaffed, there is a free help phone at the entrance to platform 2. (platform for Scarborough) Inside the new waiting shelter on the same platform is the new ticket machine where tickets can be purchased and collected with an internet booking reference. On trains, children travel half price, young children under 5, dogs and bikes travel free.

Cycle racks are installed on Platform 1, (platform for Bridlington and Hull) which also has a new waiting shelter.

CCTV, real time information, loudspeakers, and new signage have been installed.

Friends of Hunmanby Railway Station receive generous support from Northern Railway and local traders to make the station attractive to users with flower displays and community notice boards.

Both platforms have new waiting shelters decorated with artwork from the village school for the relaunch of the new hourly train service in May 2019.

Friends of Hunmanby Railway Station are currently raising funds to install two more poster boards to display this artwork on a permanent basis.

Top tips:

The Duo Ticket is a great value fare, but obtaining one from the ticket machine is not an easy process. Better to book this on your phone or in advance and collect at the station on the day.

A day return, especially off peak can be as little as 10p more than the single fare. If two people are travelling together an off Peak Duo Return is cheaper than 2 off peak single tickets to local stations between Scarborough and Hull

ie off peak single to Scarborough £5.50, off peak day return £5.60 (Duo Return 2 People £8.40)

ie off peak single to Filey £3.50, off peak day return £3.60 (Duo Return, 2 people £5.40)

ie off peak single to Bridlington £5.80, off peak day return £5.90 (Duo Return, 2 people £8.80)
