Filey Holiday Camp: provided both work and considerable income to the village, while Butlin's was open

An interesting history of the railway station is available at: disused stations website

A local perspective of the holiday camp station, remembered by local people is at hunmanby.com website The Butlin's triangle webpage

Again from the Hunmanby.com website, local history, written up by Chris Skelton in 2004 from the personal recollections of Signalman Harry Metcalfe, who worked on the railways for 49 years, Harry was then aged 86, and remembers this incident 48 years previous.  Further details on the Runnaway Train Webpage about the accident at Filey Holiday Camp on 25th August 1956.

Orchard Farm Holiday Village built a miniature railway around the site and the fishing lake. This has now closed, and the railway removed.
