MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING OF COLDEAST DRIVE RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
HELD ON FRIDAY 14th APRIL 2023 AT 54 ROTHSCHILD DRIVE AT 2 P.M.
PRESENT: Allan Duncan, Diana Hindle, Stuart Kimber, Tony Amber
APOLOGIES: No apologies were received
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: The Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and agreed.
SOCIAL: Diana reported that the numbers for the Social Event at The Mansion (12) were disappointing. It was agreed that all future, similar events would be offered to Committee Members, their friends, and families only, and would not be promoted on Facebook, etc.
GARDEN PARTY: Diana reported that she had met with The Mansion and had agreed to hold the Garden Party in their grounds, as before. It was agreed to charge an entrance fee of £1 per adult to cover the costs of some of the raffle prizes – with the balance going to charity. It was agreed for the Committee Members to take the following actions:
- Stuart agreed to speak to the previous musicians (Barry and his father) to see if they would perform again. If they are not available, he had another contact to try,
- Allan to check with Tom to see if his father would be able to provide the train, etc.
- Diana would allocate tasks to volunteers and is hoping for more helpers (Daphne has already agreed to help)
- Allan would contact local businesses to try to get vouchers, etc for the draw.
- We will draw up a plan of how to publicise the Event – which will be open to all on Admirals Wood.
- Allan would contact The Friends of Fareham Community Hospital to ensure that agree that we can publish the fact that some of the entrance fee (£1 per adult) would be donated to the Charity.
It was agreed to complete these actions asap as time is short.
COMMUNAL GARDENING: Stuart said there was nothing to report at present, although he would keep a watching brief on weed removal.
FORMATION OF A MANAGEMENT COMPANY: Allan reported that he had a online meeting booked with Jon Byrom, from Homes England and would send a full report after the meeting.
THE FUTURE ROLE OF THE CDRA: It was agreed to draw up a list of potential speakers for possible future events.
NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be held on Friday 19th May at 44 Rothschild, commencing 3 p.m.
