MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING OF COLDEAST DRIVE RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
HELD ON FRIDAY 24 TH FEBRUARY 2023 AT 44 ROTHSCHILD DRIVE AT 2 P.M.
PRESENT: Allan Duncan, Diana Hindle, Stuart Kimber, Tony Amber, and Tom Middleditch
APOLOGIES: Received from Sue Yeomans
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: The Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed
and agreed.
SOCIAL: It was agreed to hold a Social Dinner at Coldeast Manor on Wednesday 19 th April at
7 p.m. Diana would publicise the event on Facebook, WhatsApp and our Website -with
links to the Evening Menu.
It was agreed to hold another ‘Garden Party’ at The Mansion on 3 rd June – Diana would form
a small working party to plan all the necessary arrangements.
COMMUNAL GARDENING: There was nothing to report at present.
COMMUNICATION WITH ERMC: There was nothing to report at present.
FORMATION OF A MANAGEMENT COMPANY: Allam reported that Jon Byrom, from Homes
England, was off sick at present. He would update everyone on what was happening once
he was able to speak to Jon.
RESIDENTS’SURVEY: It was agreed to review a potential survey at a later date.
THE FUTURE ROLE OF THE CDRA: It was agreed that the future aims and actions of the
CDRA Committee should be divided into two aspects:
To involve all residents of the Cold East Estate in semi-social events, for example a
presentation by Dr Borman, the Leading Clinician at Fareham Community Hospital on the
plans for the Hospital, as presented to Warsash RA recently at a meeting attended by Allan
and Stuart. Allan would get the contact details and see what dates were available for the
presentation.
These Events could be held at Sarisbury Green Community Centre Hall, with a charge of £2
per head to cover the hire charges.
The Committee Members would send suggestions of other potential presentations to Allan.
The CDRA Committee would continue to liaise with The Management Company, ERMC, the
County and Local Councils, etc to represent the views and needs of the AW2 and
Nightingales residents only. It was agreed that, once Ian, Sue, Diana, and Allan became
Board Members of the Management Company there would be times when they would leave
Committee Meetings if there were any potential conflicts of interest.
RIGHT OF WAY SIGNS ON COLDEAST WAY. It was agreed that Allan would speak to
Hampshire Highways about the confusion caused by the signs. NOTE - having checked I do
not believe the signs are confusing – but will put the item on the next Agenda.
NEXT MEETING: Allan would circulate potential dates for the next meeting once he had
confirmed all Committee Member’s preferences.
