Minutes of Meeting 27th August 2021

MINUTES OF A COMMITTEE MEETING OF COLDEAST DRIVE RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
HELD ON FRIDAY 27TH AUGUST 2021 HELD AT 44 ROTHSCHILD DRIVE
PRESENT: Allan Duncan (Chair), Diana Hindle, Tony Amber, Thomas Middleditch and Stuart
Kimber
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: The Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and
approved
RA CONSTITUTION: It was agreed that the Residents of Stableyard Mews continue to be
invited to our Social Events.
It was hoped that Stuart could talk to some residents of Nightingales in order that one of
them, at least, would join the Committee.
SERVICE CHARGE: Tom reported that he was still awaiting a response from ERMC on his
Service Charge queries.
Allan reported that the draft Service Charges should be available very shortly.
COMMUNAL GARDENING: It was agreed that the main problem with the gardening was the
lack of time the Rangers spent on site – because they were based on the IOW.
It was noted that ERMC are hoping to carry out a poll to ascertain the Residents’ thoughts on
future specifications and costs. The Committee will be involved in the development of this
poll. Which will then lead to the production of a Gardening Specification in time for the bidding
process in October/November.
There have been a large number of complaints by Residents to Committee Members about
the poor state of the so called Meadow areas. Due to the continual problems with these areas
it was agreed that the Committee would meet at 11 a.m. on 15th September to visit the areas
and draw up the future look for ERMC to adhere to. It was noted that the areas are due to
be strimmed in September/October – giving the opportunity to redefine them.
Stuart would liaise with ERMC to ensure that the replanting programme would start in
October.
ADOPTION OF COLDEAST DRIVE: Allan reported that he was in contact with HCC, who had
promised to keep the Committee updated on progress of adoption of Coldeast Drive.
MAINTENANCE OF COLDEAST DRIVE AND OTHER ROADS: Allam reported that Millers had
just informed ERMC that they were unable to clear the weeds, etc from Coldeast Drive. Allan
would press ERMC for a solution.
COLDEAST MANSION: It was agreed to keep a ‘watching brief’ on events at The Mansion.
SOCIAL: Diana would investigate the possibility of holding a Social Event at Strawberry Fields
Tavern on Monday 4th October.
ERMC COMMUNICATION: Allan was asked to post of FB that the Minutes of our Meetings
were available to Residents who contacted him, as ERMC refused to publish them on their
Portal.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SCHEME. Diana reported that she has now been confirmed as
the Co-ordinator for Admirals Wood NHW.
