Rettendon Memorial Hall was first built in 1923 in memory of villagers killed in the First World War, and contains their inscribed memorial stone in its entrance foyer. It was extended in 1957, and continues to be maintained with all facilities expected for a village hall. It operates a programme of events, as well as being available for public hire.

Shere Swimming Pool Club took over the running of the pool from Shere Parish Council in 1989. The Club is a registered charity (no. 1184796) and charges the lowest practicable subscription. The membership is mostly local along with some from further afield. An elected Committee run the Club and all routine maintenance is carried out on a voluntary basis.
