Isn't it nice when you get a note from a listener who appreciates what we do?
This message (from Mrs S Crichton, Thundersley, Essex) was inside her wallet this morning.
Praise for the CP editions:
“The most precious gift is your time. Thank you for giving yours, these wonderful recordings give me so much pleasure. My sight and hearing are both very poor but thanks to your black box I manage to hear them and am very cross with myself when I forget to switch it on as soon as the Newspaper arrives and can’t listen ASAP. Thank you.”
Thank you for your feedback Mrs Crichton. On behalf of all at RR and CP TN.
See what JILL ALLEN-KING O.B.E. has said about us on the bottom of our History Page
We hope that your eyesight is good enough for you to be able to read this.
But if it's not then we may be able to help you. It’s easy for people with sight problems to listen to national and international news. They can simply turn on the radio or television and they can listen to it 24 hours a day if they want to. But it’s not so easy to find out about what’s happening in their local area - unless, of course, they have family or friends who are able and willing to read the local newspaper for them.
And that’s where we come in. We can bring local news to them and they can listen to it when, and where, they want to.
Our recordings are available, entirely free of charge, to anyone in these districts who is blind, partially sighted, or simply finds it difficult to read. There is no need to be registered sight impaired.
The USB memory sticks arrive by post in padded wallets every fortnight, with FREEPOST return labels. We can even provide a special player for those who do not have their own.
If you, or someone you know, would like to find out what’s going on locally and can’t manage to read the paper – or if you wish to know more about what we do – please get in touch.
We have had to change the way we present our recordings. when you click on the link at the top of each recording page,
you will be taken to an audio player instead of having to click on every track to hear it.
