Go to the What We Do page to hear about us.

Please Note

We are back with a fortnightly recording, unseparated for Rayleigh / Rochford and Castle Point.

Instead, you will all receive the same recording each fortnight until we can get the teams

back together.

As you know, our recording studio is in St Lukes – the site of the old Rochford hospital.  St Lukes is now home to residents, many of whom are elderly and need extra support.

At the moment, we have full access to the studio and there are no restrictions to entry.  However – this may change as more advice is given about the Coronavirus.

Should St Lukes decide to limit entry, it may be that we will not be able to make our recordings for you.  So – if at some time in the next month or so you realise that your usual recording hasn’t been delivered – this may be the reason.  Please note that it won’t be possible for us to phone you all with an update.

This fortnight's recording is Castle Point 1 and, because of the above situation, we were only able to record this session so we have uploaded this edition to both Castle Point and Rayleigh and Rochford.

We hope to be back with you as soon as possible.  Stay well.

We hope that your eyesight is good enough for you to be able to read this.

But if it's not then we may be able to help you.  It’s easy for people with sight problems to listen to national and international news. They can simply turn on the radio or television and they can listen to it 24 hours a day if they want to. But it’s not so easy to find out about what’s happening in their local area - unless, of course, they have family or friends who are able and willing to read the local newspaper for them.

And that’s where we come in. We can bring local news to them and they can listen to it when, and where, they want to.

Our recordings are available, entirely free of charge, to anyone in these districts who is blind, partially sighted, or simply finds it difficult to read. There is no need to be registered sight impaired.

The USB memory sticks arrive by post in padded wallets every fortnight, with FREEPOST return labels. We can even provide a special player for those who do not have their own.

If you, or someone you know, would like to find out what’s going on locally and can’t manage to read the paper – or if you wish to know more about what we do – please get in touch or go to the “What we do” page.

We have had to change the way we present our recordings.  When you click on the link at the top of each recording page,
you will be taken to an audio player instead of having to click on every track to hear it.
