North Norfolk Railway – The Poppy Line
North Norfolk Railway has six signalboxes. Three are operational; Sheringham West, Weybourne, and Holt with Sheringham East used as an operations office.
It also has two signalling experience signalboxes; Cromer Beach situated at the end of Cromer station platform (accessed from Holt Road) and Reedham Junction, relocated to Holt in 2022. Both these offer the opportunity for visitors to to have a fully hands-on signalling experience.
If you fancy trying your hand at signalling then there are three options to choose from:
- Book a signalling experience day where you will be given full one to one instruction working one of NNR's operational signalboxes.
- Come to Cromer or Reedham Jn signalboxes and have a hands-on experience under instruction with one of our stewards.
- Why not consider training as a signalman and work one of the oeprational signalboxes controlling real trains? Full training is provided and soon you will control real train movemets on the line.
