Ribchester Local History Society

Aims and Objectives

  • To provide a forum for those with an interest in the history and environment of Ribchester and the surrounding area.
  • To undertake research and report on particular aspects of past village life, and to record the memories of those who live within the parish boundaries.


Membership of the Society is open to anyone with an interest in the history of Ribchester and its hinterland. Membership fees are payable annually, and entitle members to attend all meetings of the annual season from September to May. Meetings are normally held in the Ribchester Arms. A separate fee for summer programme events is payable in advance for each event.


Visitors are welcome to attend Society meetings on payment of a flat fee per meeting (see below). Visitors are also welcomed to the Summer Programme events.


Meetings are normally held in the Ribchester Sports & Social Club at 8.00pm, unless otherwise advised.


There is wheelchair access at the Ribchester Social,Club you require assistance please contact a member of the committee.
