Rothsay Ramblers was formed as a separate group in 1991, and has about 125 members. We are a sociable group whose primary aim is to enjoy walking in the countryside within a 20 mile radius of Bedford, including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Latest Covid Guidance

Our Monday programme of small group walks of three, four and five miles is continuing, bearing in mind the need for caution set out in current Government Guidance. For the present, we envisage walks normally having up to twelve participants. In some cases, depending on location and the nature of the walk, walk leaders may wish to reduce or slightly increase this number. Venues providing refreshments are available on some but not all walks and the walks calendar provides information about this. Places should continue to be booked in advance with walk leaders. Booking in advance will help hospitality venues when available and enable participants to be contacted should anyone later become ill. Our approach will be kept under review, taking account of national guidance and infection rates in our area. Assuming conditions allow, we hope to return to a more traditional approach at the end of September.

Following discussion at the last AGM, we will also be asking walk leaders who are willing to do so to trial walks in the Autumn on other days as well as on a Monday. Feedback from these walks will be looked at carefully to identify any possible longer term changes to put to our members.
