The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of the parish, not of the Parish Council. It is required under the Local Government Act 1972 that a parish must assemble annually between 1st March and 1st June so each year the Chairman of the Parish Council calls a meeting.
It is an opportunity for all of the residents to meet and discuss the issues and opportunities within the village. This is the time for residents to provide general ideas that they would like their elected Council to aim towards. As it is not a Parish Council meeting no business can be transacted.
At this meeting the Chairman speaks about what has happened within the Parish over the last year and welcomes comments or questions from the electorate. In some places other community groups and leaders also report on their activities throughout the year within the parish.
This year the meeting is due to be held on Wednesday 1st May 2024 at 7pm in the village hall.
