2024 Elections:
Election of a Police, Fire and Crime
Commissioner for Essex Police Area
2023 was an election year!
The nine seats that make up the Parish Council are filled by local residents that apply to take them. Every four years all current Councillors have to stand for election. Candidates file their paperwork with Tendring District Council and if there are more applicants than seats available a poll is called. If there are less applicants than seats available then the election is uncontested and all applicants become Councillors.
The next election will be held in May 2027. In between elections, any remaining empty seats can be filled by a process of co-option, where the Council agree to a candidate taking a seat, rather than a vote of the residents.
