DECC has announced a proposed cut of the Solar Feed In Tariff by 87% by January 2016, reducing the amount paid for electricity produced by solar PV panels from 12.92p per kilowatt hour to just 1.63p. The solar subsidy cut is one of a series of reductions announced as the Government reduces support for a range of small-scale renewable energy technologies such as wind turbines and hydro power.
