Residents should look out for displays of wild flowers on some road verges from this summer. It's not neglect, it's wildlife-friendly planting! KEF and the newly-formed Kingston Biodiversity Network, along with national organisations such as River of Flowers and Plantlife, have been lobbying for a while for more diverse and natural planting (cut-grass verges have very little appeal to insects and birds), and we look forward to seeing more wild flowers around our borough and more bees and butterflies too.
