KEF welcomed the news that Kingston has been awarded Mayor of London's funding for ambitious plans to make cycling safer and pleasanter in the borough. Kingston was one the London boroughs shortlisted by the Mayor for a share of £100m to help make them as cycle-friendly as Dutch towns, and will receive up to £30million.

Kingston Council plans better facilities and conditions for cyclists, pedestrians and drivers across the borough with a newcycle routes and traffic measures. The Council's "mini Holland" proposals and more about cycling in the borough can be seen here. Much of the detail is still to be worked out and there will public consultations, to which KEF and several of our member groups will contribute.
