We work closely with park staff on various events within the park, e.g. Heritage Days, Family Fun Days, Dog Oscars, Big Spring Clean, making bird feeders.  We also met with judges to help the park gain Green Flag status.

June 2012 saw the first Heritage Picnic Day which was a great success.  Fortunately that was the one day in June when the sun shone and the rain held off.  Some of the events included story tellers, musicians, dancers and making and firing clay pots and tiles using medieval techniques.   Among the stalls, the herb stall and tombola were very popular with the adults while the children enjoyed making clay tiles and pots, various art and craft activites and, of course, the story tellers

Below are some images of the Heritage Event.

As part of the arts and crafts stall, children helped decorate a banner to welcome the Olympic Torch which passed the Tynemouth Road entrance in July 2012.

Over the years (except during the Covid Pandemic) we have continued to participate in events within the park, e.g. We have plans for even more involvement once our proposed Labyrinth has been created.
