We are just ordinary people who are regular users of the Park.

  •    Some of us are young families who enjoy the play area and feeding the ducks in the lake.
  •    Some are wildlife enthusiasts who have an abundance of flora and fauna to enjoy.
  •    Some enjoy the fresh air and the many varied walks around the park.
  •    Some are dog walkers who use the park everyday.

In 2009 we began meeting informally and in November 2010 became a constituted group.

We worked closely with North Tyneside Council in supporting their bid for Heritage funding to restore Northumberland Park to its former glory.   This funding bid was successful and, over the next few years, substantial improvements were made, including a much needed cafe and toilet facilities.  The transformed park was re-opened to the public  in 2015.

We have set up sub-groups to support us in our efforts, namely Garden Group, Heritage Group, Events Group and Funding Group.
