I'll be taking Voice offline after 10pm today in order to move to a new hosting provider. The system and all sites will be unavailable for about half an hour.

This change will give a great boost to performance and capacity for Voice. The next time you log in to update a site you'll notice the difference!

This change will require users with custom domain names to update their DNS settings before the end of June to point to a new IP address. DON'T PANIC because the old IP address will continue to work until the end of June, so there's plenty of time to to make the change!

We'll be in contact with site admins using custom domains to give them specific instructions, once the hosting change is complete.

Thanks

Good news: the site transfer seems to have been a success. No problems encountered on the way.

It seems to be running well, with improved speed!

The new IP address for sites with custom domains is 83.136.248.56 and there are some instructions for how to change things here. We will be in touch with all site admins who have a custom domain with further instructions in due course.

Both the old and the new IP address will continue to work until the end of June, when the old one will stop.

Thanks all

Hi Joe,

I have updated the new IP address on IONOS and I now find that I am not getting emails generated by the system.  We've had email problems with the old IP address (that did not affect me), but now I'm not receiving emails.  A notice was published earlier this evening by the Chair of my organisation, which hasn't been received and I sent myself a test message through the system that also hasn't been received.

Is this a bug?  Can I have an urgent response as I rely on the system's email system to communicate with over 90 members.

Our Walnut Club site is registered through 123.reg. I have logged in there and think I may have found the IP address I need to change to 83.136.248.56 but I need to know what the current address is to confirm that is the one I need to change before I start messing around with it.

Hi Brian

You probably need to look for something like 46.20.114.???   If you look in Manage Website>Website settings>Site Domain the current IP address you are using should be visible; it was for me this morning.

I manage my account through IONOS and it was relatively easy.  I just looked for the IP address number (shown in Site Domain) and edited it with the new IP address.  It took a couple of hours for the Voice system to update itself.

Hi Alan,

Thanks. I did work out that it was 46.20.114.134 that I needed to update so have done so.

Fingers crossed it's now OK for the switch.

I have made the IP address changes but have found that each time I try to go our website it comes up with a security notification ? This has never happened before. I get this message -
NET:ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
And if I click advanced I get this message -
This server could not prove that it is www.marlowbowls.co.uk its security certificate is from 33rdnorwich.co.uk. This may be caused by misconfigurationor an attacker intercepting your connection.
Any advice please ?

Hi Paul,

This problem is now resolved - the certificates are updating correctly.

Thanks

Hi Joe

Our domain name is via 1and1. In the email explaining the hosting update VOICE provided a link to how to make the DSN change in 1and1 - but unfortunately the link isn't working.

I've gone into the 1and1 control panel and changed the DSN for Type A  in relation to Host names @ and www.

Should I also change the DSN for Type A in relation to Host name ftp

Regards

Michael

Seems like you've done it perfectly Michael!

There's no need to change the ftp record - it's not used by Voice at all. You could even delete it if you wish to - it'll make no difference.

Thanks
