In future we may have to deal with other crises and emergencies from external sources, such a major cyber attacks, loss of satellite signals, disruption of transport,  communications, infrastructure or national services such as water supply or the NHS. We have received warnings of such events from the Intelligence and Defence Services as well as threats of direct action from Russia as retaliation for the supply of long range weapons that ahve been used by Ukraine in the war.

The Elstead Parish Council Resilience Plan is currently under review by a sub-committee chaired by the Elstead Parish Clerk (June 2024): elstead.pc.clerk@gmail.com

The Environment Agency has information on flood risk management and precautions for individuals, businesses and communities with links to other sources and contacts:

"Be Flood Prepared: Respond and Recover Quicker"

This includes a volunteer Flood Warden scheme,. If interested contact the E.A.:

SWEDISH EMERGENCY GUIDE
The Swedish Government has recently issued a very clearly written guide to all their people on actions that they can take in wartime or emergency situations. It covers more information than a similar Finnish Guide and is aimed at families as well as the general population.
In Case of Crisis or War (English version).
