Hi,

When our members receive notifications, they come from "admin@e-voice.org.uk". The email subject contains "[Voice Online Communities]" and then the subject. Some of our members find this confusing.

Is there a possibility to make it more clear that the email notification comes from our community? We are using our own domain name and have our own email address. It would be nice to have this as the sender.

This was mentioned in this post, https://e-voice.org.uk/help/forums/message-view?message_id=47309323, but I haven’t seen any response.

Thanks!

Renee

This is a bit tricky - because we can't send email from your email address, it always has to come from @e-voice.org.uk - otherwise it'll just be marked as spam and nobody will ever see the emails.

We could probably change the [Voice Online Communities] in the subject line to be the name of the originating website though, which should make it less confusing? Maybe also it could use your website's logo, if you have one, rather than the standard Voice logo. I guess these would be welcome changes even if we can't change the sender address?

When messages are sent by you from the admin pages we will set the reply-to address so that if someone tries to reply to the email it goes back to you, not to us. Though it isn't always possible to do this becuse sometimes the system doesn't know what would be a better address to use. (e.g., there's no standard "reply to" address configured for your website)

Thanks

Joe

Hi Joe

The system provides emails to be generated through the Admin pages.  Email notifications are also sent out following entries being published throughthe Blog and Notice Board.  If you are able to make the changes described above can they be replicated for all emails/notifications arising from the system?  Also, if someone tries to respond to messages being sent out from either of these sources can an email go back to the author of the blog or notice board entry?
