Local resident and fully qualified electrician Paul Flowers has been working at a super charged pace this week to improve the Hall. Paul has given up his time for free over the last couple of weekends and all this week to install new emergency and outdoor lighting. He has also improved the control mechanism for the Hall's elderly heating system. This has positively impacted on some key issues identified by the community action plan consultation: dark car park with no adequate lighting, a lack of heating and inadequate emergency lighting. Paul's work now means that car park has flood lights, the entire exterior of the Hall has lighting and the interior emergency lighting has been fully overhauled. The Hall can now control the heating system from one thermostat. Meaning that we can keep it at a minimum temperature during winter and set timers for events so that if no one turns off the heating it will go off automatically. Our favourite job Paul has done is to restore the original lamp over the entry doors to the Hall, preserving a bit of the Hall's history.
