A tingling, misty marvel blew hither in the night, and now the little peach-trees

are clasped in frozen light.

Upon the apple branches an icy film is caught, with trailing threads of gossamer in pearly patterns wrought.

The autumn sun, in wonder, is gayly peering through  this silver-tissued network across the frosty blue.

The weathervane is fire-tipped, the honeysuckle shows a dazzling icy splendour and crystal is the rose. – Evaleen Stein, ‘November Morning’

November 2019

Dear member,

Meeting held 31st October

Well it really was spooky but Halloween had nothing on our swizzle sticks. Keith Harmon gave us such a fascinating insight into the world of dowsing and even if you are sceptical about it there’s something weirdly magical in what he said. Armed with a pair of bent rods he led us through finding water, ancient ruins, graves and lost property. We all had a pair of these rods and looked at one time as though we were in front of Madame Guillotine! They bent and twisted and behaved in their own way and believe me there was no prompting or pushing and cheating. Was it related to gardening? – well in a vague sort of way if you wish to dangle a pendulum in front of a choice of peat at the garden centre. I’ve had one lovely comment from a member of the audience about this talk and I’m pleased as it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get reasonable speakers at an affordable price. We had 6 visitors which was very encouraging. Keith answered questions and judged the competitions with Barbara’s help. I asked Roy to give a vote of thanks and he did it perfectly.
