AGM & Christmas Buffet held on December 13th, 2018
For once the weather was kinder than of late and the hall was pleasantly warm.
Present: With apologies from Maureen Willis I welcomed 16 members followed by the reading of minutes & matters arising from the 2017 AGM. Our president Ken gave a lovely resume of his gardening year, which was followed by my report, which included input from key committee holders, and ending with that of the treasurer.

Presentation of cups – Monthly Competitions
Zillah’s trophy - most points in Floral Art
v Jose Green 23 pts, runner up Stella Smith 9 pts.
Merriman Cup for most points in classes other than Floral Art
v Jose Green had 185 pts, runner up Margaret Keefe with 177 pts.
v The I.C.I. Challenge Cup for most points in potted plants – Margaret Keefe – to be awarded at the January meeting.
The usual lovely food was enjoyed by everyone and this was followed by our raffle consisting of wrapped prizes. Thank you one and all.

Membership remains at £10 p.a. please re-enrol, bring a friend, and support the society in a year when our president Ken will be enjoying his 90th birthday. We will be celebrating this event at our March meeting with a fish ‘n chip supper.
Once again, we will be holding a plant sale on a designated Saturday afternoon in May, so get sowing. More information on the 2019 programme available at the January meeting.
