"All Nature seems at work.  Slugs leave their lair
The bees are stirring, birds are on the wing,
And Winter slumbering in the open air,
Wears on his smiling face a dream of spring."
-   Samuel Taylor Coleridge

April 2019

Dear member,

Meeting held on 28th March

A lovely fish ‘n chip supper was enjoyed by 22 members and one guest. The evening went well with a thankyou and address by me for Ken, spanning his magnificent 90 years. I also presented him with a bottle of real champagne and Eileen gave him a gift of Nigella – his call sign whilst working at Squires’ Nursery!

Ken himself then gave us a slide show of many of his favourite plants and places.

It is with much sadness that Eileen & I wish to report the sudden and unexpected death of our sister Dee who died in the West Middlesex Hospital on 6th April. Not only was she our sister but the Society’s Treasurer and had carried out this role for several years. We are now in desperate need of someone to take over this duty.

The funeral will be held at the

South West Middlesex Crematorium

Wednesday May 1st

12.40 p.m.

Floral tributes may be sent to the Co-Operative Funeral Services at Sunbury. No formal dress required – Dee liked bright colours, celebrate her life with us.
