Yes, really there should automatically be a link in the navigation menu. I'll add this to the todo list I think!

I see that in the meantime you've created a Page called "Back to Public Area". You can actually do something a bit better than this - instead of creating a Page you can create a Redirect. This goes into the navigation menu just the same as a Page, but links directly to somewhere else!
