Your question on how to make files available from the assets library is interesting - and I'd be interested to know more about what you have in mind here.

For images you can add them to pages individually, and documents you can create links to, and audio/video media can also be embedded on a page. But maybe you had a sort of "file download" widget or something in mind?

I'd be open to suggestions here - maybe there's a neat way of making a little file listing or something that could go on a page.
