I've created a private members area and put some files in it to be shared. I've created a list of PMA members and confirmed their access permissions.

What step-by-step instructions do I need to send to those people for accessing the area and downloading the files, please?  None has ever interacted with a website 'behind the scenes' before. As an admin I can't see what they will be seeing on first accessing the site, eg I presume passwords won't be saved.
