Never thought much about this option. I'd be in favour of its removal, on the basis that if we every wanted something restored we could send you a message and hopefully you'd be able to restore the data.
On an associated point, this only came about because one of my members was using the facility to capture a number of files (in this case "MP3" format, but it could have been a pdf or word). I am sure that this facility was never intended for this purpose, but it was spotted by someone who decided to investigate. I only got involved with e-voice in 2018, so I'm not sure of its original purpose. I presume that it was a legacy issue when the system was designed and local admins backed up their data.
There is obviously a need to be able to download files. How easy would it be to have a download file option (button?) to a PC, tablet or other mobile device?
