No spaces. I had to get him to apply to join and then I approved it. It just would not accept that there wasn't a first name it even said so in the error message. Very odd

Paula, there must be some difference in the address he used to login as a member and what you use as his e mail address.

No difference. There is a fault in the programming! I used to build websites for a living. I am also capable of typing an email correctly
