There's no select multiple, but if you go to the Assets Library then click on the Images folder icon under Assets on the left, (rather than the asset itself), it shows a list of all assets with a handy dustbin icon next to it that allows you to easily one-click delete the assets you no longer want.

This will be faster than clicking on each asset in turn and clicking the delete button.
