For more than 20 years the people of Great Waltham have come together to put on live entertainment for the community and raise money for charity and good causes. The community spirit captured and created by these shows helped Great Waltham win the coveted Essex Village of the Year title in 2010 and led to the formation of GWPP the following year by a band of enthusiastic amateurs living in the parish to provide a focus for the fantastic talent and technical expertise we have in Great Waltham.

Since its formation GWPP has produced at least one show every year at Great Waltham Village Hall, raising funds for Broomfield Hospital Cancer Unit, British Heart Foundation, Cancer UK and other charities and local good causes. GWPP also assists other groups with technical and stage assistance to enable them to put on their own shows in the parish.

The present committee is:

  • Hilary Taylor - Chair
  • David Chapman - Treasurer
  • Andy Tinsley - Secretary
  • Teresa Harper
  • Jan Patch
  • Paul Jarrett
  • Les Patch
  • Michael Proctor
  • Sarah Radley

All those living or working in the parish and others invited by the committee are welcome to take part in GWPP productions whether on stage, providing help with sound and lighting, front of house, backstage or manning the bar – to find out more follow and contact GWPP on Facebook.

Our next production is The Waltham Witch an original play written by one of our members, Michael Proctor, which will be performed at Great Waltham Village Hall on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th October 2019. Tickets will go on sale nearer the time.
