Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Calendar entries

Yes but you must be logged in to do so.  Open the Village Calendar.  To the right of the calendar you will see a button marked 'Add an event'.  Click this button and fill in the form on screen.  Click 'ok' at the bottom of the page when you have finished and your entry will be saved to the calendar.

The calendar is for events relevant to the villages so please remember when putting things in that your entry will be visible to everyone.  Please therefore don't put in things that are relevant only to you or a small number of people.

Community Blog entry

The Community Blog is an area of the website where you can add information (that is not covered elsewhere in the site) you feel is of interest to others in the villages.  For example the first entry from Andy & Elsie gives you an update on old friends that you may know who moved abroad some years ago.

Feel free to add your entries but please keep content suitable.  The administrators may edit or remove your item if it is not appropriate.  Only members of the website can add entries and you must be logged in to the site.

Entering information is fairly intuitive however if you are having problems, please get in touch using the 'Contact Us' link.

Unwanted e-Voice emails

Login to the Ellerton & Aughton Village website. Next to your login name at the top left of the screen you will see Your Account -click this.    The box that appears centre screen (with your account details) has a tab called 'Email Preferences'.  Select this and uncheck the boxes for Newsletters from Voice and All Notifications from the website.  You will no longer receive these emails.

Website membership

As a member you will be able to add items to certain pages such as the Calendar and the Classified Ads.

There will also be pages that will only be visible to members if they are logged in but not otherwise. These pages will not be visible to the public.

A membership list also allows those responsible for issuing mail drops to do bulk email drops to all members thus saving time and money.
