Superheros

To the Esteemed Team Captains of Ellesmere Bowling Club

We formally acknowledge your invaluable contributions to our club. While the league handbooks refer to you merely as Team Captains, your fellow members know your true title: Club Superheroes.

The responsibilities you shoulder each week require abilities far beyond standard administration. Your skill in securing transport to away fixtures rivals the logistics of a military operation. Your mastery of home‑game refreshments demonstrates hospitality worthy of a five‑star establishment. And your frantic, last‑minute telephone diplomacy to replace late dropouts is nothing short of heroic.

Your selflessness does not go unnoticed. You routinely volunteer to face the most formidable opponents on the green — the players nobody else wishes to encounter. Equally, your willingness to step aside when the squad is oversubscribed is the ultimate act of team‑first sportsmanship.
Please accept this diatribe as official confirmation that your tireless efforts keep our club functioning, our teams moving, and our league obligations fulfilled.
Thank you for your dedication, your patience, and your exceptional leadership. Please enjoy the accompanying superhero memes. You have earned the right to wear the cape over your club polo shirt this week.
