1: Cloning the whole page in the private area

Hello,

 

I was planning on doing a major overhall on our webpage. But in order to get some consensus with the main users I wanted to clone it into the private area and do All my suggested modifications so that other members of the private area can see before it goes online.

 

Maybe there is a better suggestion?

Note that there's no automatic way to clone lots of pages from one site to another, or from your live site to the private pages.

Though, that said, yes there's no reason why you shouldn't use the private area for this purpose - you could experiment with various features that only your chosen users could see, and then replicate these things onto your live site as and when you're happy with them.

If it's just one or two pages, you could manage this in the CMS by creating a test page and giving read access only to those users you wanted to be able to see it, then you could give the page public read access once you're happy with it.

Thanks Joe, unfortunately it is the whole website that we would like to redesign.

I think I will change one page at a time.
