Hi all,

A big update for people who like videos! It falls into two parts:

Part One

Videos in your Assets Library can now be YouTube video references as well as uploaded Video files. Either paste in the YouTube video URL, or select a video file on your computer (max 100MB).

OK part one was quite short.

Part Two

You can use these videos pretty much everywhere that you can use an image. So this means:

• You can insert videos direct into your wysiwyg content, there is CSS styling to ensure they don't overlap the columns.
• You can use videos in Carousels, Accordions, and Grids.
• You can select a video or image to associated with calendar events and weblog/noticeboard posts - a thumbnail appears in the events list and full video when you go to the event.
• The Related Image Gallery (now renamed Related Media Gallery) will show a mix of videos and images.
• The Latest Posts and Upcoming Events includelets show a video thumbnail if configured to show images.
• You can add a video as a related item to a page and a thumbnail will show in Filtered Item Lists etc.

Given that there are lots of ways images/videos can be used across your site, it's possible that some things could be improved. So please try it out and let me know how you get on!
