Dear Voice team,

Thank you for making this great and versatile platform! It's been fun putting site together with it.

I wanted to report a slightly confusing interaction where hiding photos within an album causes errors rendering a page with the "Photo Album" includelet.

The steps I took:

  • Enabled the Photo Album Application
  • Created a photo album and add multiple pictures
  • Added the photo album Includelet to an existing page of a site
  • Hid and reordered various photographs

On viewing the relevant page, I then got the error 'There was a server error processing your request. We apologize'. None of the content of the page was rendered at all, either the main body or the album.

On viewing the affected photo album, I got an error when using the 'Next' button that the target photo was not found. It seemed to me as if the photos that had been 'hidden' were not removed from the index used to navigate between items in the album.

I was able to fix this by:

  • Making all photographs visible again
  • Going to "edit photo" and deleting the photos that I did not want to appear in the album

I tried to reproduce the same issue with a different photo album and wasn't able to, so it doesn't seem consistent. It felt writing it up thought because it wasn't immediately obvious what caused the problem and reverting to previous published version of the same page didn't do anything to fix the issue.

It feels as if it may be an indexing or caching problem of some kind. For admins in case you are interested in viewing logs:

Thanks again for making this useful and user friendly service.
