Hi, I've created specific user groups to provide granular permissons.

When adding content e.g. posts, events and discussion messages users are unable to access the assets library / upload images, unless they are admins.

I was intending to add an image here to show the issue but the same issue occurs here, I'm unable to upload an image.

Just wondering how I can allow users to use / upload images to the asset library without being full admins.

Thanks

Paul.

Hi Paul,

This is a known limitation and I'm not sure there's anything I can do about it - the Assets Library is accessible only to administrators by design. And so yes if you allow a regular member to create events, or add blog posts, then they can't add the highlight image to the item, which relies on Assets Library access, and is a bit annoying!

However, you may have noticed that members posting to discussion forums, like this, can attach an image without having access to the Assets Library. These images are associated directly to the item itself. This is useful though has some limitations (if you want to associate the same image with multiple things, you have to upload them multiple times).

What I could do is extend this functionality to the image picker for creating blog posts and calendar items, so it isn't just a WYSIWYG feature. Do you think that would be useful?

As an aside, this feature wasn't available on these forums until now - so you should find it's now possible to attach images to posts on here, which is fun! 😀

Thanks

Joe
