I am in the process of re-vamping a page on our website (The Garden this Month) and liked Joe’s suggestion at the last zoom meeting re using the Photo Album includelet in the right hand column to create a column of images that were just 1 image wide.
I have enabled the includelet and copied it into a right hand column and also set up a photo album inside a folder. I selected the option of 1 for grid size.
However, I cannot display the album in the preview. I have tried putting it in the main content area etc and have tried changing the permissions but no luck.
I have probably overlooked something simple but can’t spot it!

Yes indeed!
The thing is that you haven't added any pictures into the photo album - you have just added pictures into the description of the photo album using the wysiwyg editor. I added a picture in the album and it now appears just fine.
Also - you will probably struggle to get the Background Begin/End to work how you expect in a multi-column layout. (imagine what will happen when the columns wrap under each other on a smaller screen)
Thanks
Joe
Many thanks Joe.
Am experimenting with layout but, as you say, the photo album includelet and blocking are not quite in synch.

This isn't a photo album includelet thing per se - it's more that Background Begin/End are designed to overflow the bounds of the column they are put into, and so using them in a multi-column layout won't ever behave as you want it to. They work best on linear pages where all includelets are put into the main Content column.
The photo album includelet would work perfectly well in the main column too, of course, if this is your preference! Then you could separate it with a different background colour if you like.
Thanks
Joe
