Hi Joe,

Is it possible when using "Check-box" responses in a Survey to limit the number of boxes checked.  For example, if I have a list of 12 items and I want respondees to choose their top 3 can their response be limited to no more than the permitted number?  The checkbox has no limits as far as I can tell, so a respondent could, in theory, choose all 12.

I can't see a way to restrict the number of checkboxes ticked so I have, on the test site, set up the same 12 options three times and used radio buttons instead.  But this will allow respondees to give the same response 3 times, which isn't the point of the exercise.

Kind regards

Alan

Unfortunately there's no good way to do this that I can think of. HTML doesn't really have the concept of "multiple select but not too many at the same time" - sorry!

I guess you have to ask people to pick their favourite three and hope that they behave!?
