I can see a great opportunity for allowing simple editing to our website to certain individuals rather than allowing them full access that might be confusing (or disastrous).
Basically have different level of Administration (could be a Group) that allows Quick Edit only or Full Edit from the 'Admin Button (cog)'.
I have created a simple website to a church on a different platform and want to transition to e-voice. All they have is a place to post their latest newsletter and revise the link (in a button) and currently they edit just that. Danger is that they could 'confuse' the structure of the website quite easily and would prefer a simpler approach.
I apologise if this is already available and I haven't understood how to achieve it.
I like this idea, though it requires a bit more thinking about before we charge headlong into adding it.
Firstly, Quick Edit doesn't currently allow the creation of pages (only editing) - though this could be overcome. I assume it's a feature that would be required in order to be useful!
I also like the idea that you could set up different users with Editor rights for a section, which just gives them access to Quick Edit to add/edit pages, but without the full access to the Layout/Relations/etc tabs.
I think we'd also want to consider whether Editors would be able to edit any pages in sections that they were given permission on, or whether it would just be their own pages they could change. (e.g., so they can't change pages that you have created?)
One way of doing something a bit like this is to use the Weblog or Noticeboard app (renamed to Newsletters if you like), then you can grant permission to memebers to be able to contribute to this section. This allows them to add entries without going into the admin pages.
Thanks
