Hi all,

I've been working on some changes around emails that are sent by Voice.

Now instead of always having the Voice logo at the top, they will have the logo of the originating site. And in the footer it'll mention the site name (as well as Voice Online Communities).

Automatically generated notifications (e.g., from forum posts and newly published content) will have the site name in the subject too.

I have also made a change so that Voice sends email from multiple IP addresses, meaning that if one of them gets blocked it'll try again from a different address. This should mean that emails are never blocked by overzealous blacklists, as we have had happen before.

(Unfortunately we can't control whether the email gets put into your spam folder, but at least it'll definitely reach you now!)

If you send emails from your site I'd be interested in getting some feedback about whether it is working as expected and using the correct logo. Obviously I haven't been able to test all logos from all sites, but for my test sites it seems to be working well.

Thanks! :-)

Hi Joe

A message was sent out this afternoon to the Euphonix Choir using the "blog" (that arrived in my inbox at 16.03).

Would your changes to the system have taken effect before or after this was published?  I ask because the Euphonix logo was not shown on the message, so this may or may not answer your question.

Regards

Alan

Excellent Joe, it's works exactly as you said, a very good improvement and avoids confusion for receipents of the email.

Cheers
