1: Website permissions - remove user?

I've been playing with the website "permissions and sharing" tab while trying to get to grips with membership policies. I've added  a user to the list (with "Registered Users", "The Public" and "Members") - is it possible to delete the user from the list? I can't find a mechanism to do so.

If you remove all their permissions then save the change they should disappear from the list on the Permissions page.
