Some of the things we've been up to
Our aim is to make Sutton Green and Victoria Gardens nicer places to visit and spend time in. We are always open to ideas from outside bodies or individuals on how to make the area better and we are encouraged by the positive comments we receive from passers-by when we are out working on the greens. After a bleak couple of years we are back out and about litter picking and have been busy bulb planting and tidying up the grass edging along the paths. See the other pages under this 'Activities' page for details.
Behind the scenes we have been investigating whether we can have some form of lighting on the Green, on the diagonal path from the High Street bus stop towards the vets on Stayton Road. Sutton is already one of the safest places to live in London, but anything that makes people feel even safer is to be welcomed. We are pleased to report that lighting has been agreed in principle and Council Officers are now in the process of finalising costings. More details will be published when we have more information.
