Could you become a friend of All Saints Church, Aughton?
All Saints Church has stood in Aughton since the 11th century and is Grade 1 listed. It is a truly special place, looking over the floodplains of the Derwent for the past 1000 years. Not only does it provide a place of worship and sanctuary but is also of incredible historical importance and the hub of our small community. The church is in serious need of repair, with a number of major issues found on a recent survey. Also, in the recent inclement weather, one of the boundary walls has collapsed. Without help it is unlikely that the church will be able to function as it does.
For this reason, we are asking people who live in the surrounding area to become a friend of the church, and pledge a minimum donation of £5 a month to help this fantastic place to be preserved for future generations. Your generosity would help fund vital repairs to the church, contribute to the running costs, and provide a regular income to keep this wonderful place open and accesible to all.
Thank you for considering becoming a friend of the church. It has survived through fire, plague, disestablishment, depression and war. We can't let austerity see the end of it!
