On Sunday 5th June 2022, we held a street party to celebrate HM The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It was amazing to have cleared Sherland Road of cars!
The event was a great success, with visitors from other roads too. Our MP Munira Wilson popped in and enjoyed a glass of fizz after judging the Children's Fancy Dress. Traditional games and a playlist of music from the past 60 years played throughout the day.
We were delighted to also have live music from two great local Bands - Richmond Music Trust Jazz Band and Canine Gymkhana. Very talented musicians indeed who played a great selection of songs.
The history of the road was displayed along with photographs strategically placed at points in the road. One photograph showed a VE Party on the very site that became the community garden.
