Community Orchard Update

We hope that our community orchard will start to progress this year.  We are still waiting for confirmation regarding the land. We will then start the planning for planting our orchard.  Once this is achieved and it will be some time before we have any meaningful crop.

Crop & Care Event - 5th April - Chidham

We do however have an opportunity to reap the benefits of an established orchard in Chidham.

Our idea is centred on "Care and Crop" the trees you care for you crop for your own use. There is no charge you simply have to commit to care for the trees you adopt.

If you are interested please come along to an introductory session.  No expertise is required you will be taught the basics of pruning and have an opportunity to practise your new skill.

The session will take place at Chidham Orchard, Chidham Lane,  Chidham,  PO18 8TD (see map). The event will take place on Saturday the 5th of April stating at 2pm and is planned to last 3 hours.

This event is open to the whole community so tell your friends. Families are welcome on the provision that children are supervised. Please bring your own refreshments. If you have pruning tools please bring them otherwise there will be some provided. Dress for the weather and bring some gardening gloves.
